Spiritual Accompaniment
If you’d like to be in touch about your spiritual life and what might work best for you, click the button just below and schedule a free consultation with me. Otherwise, read on to learn about two different kinds of spiritual accompaniment.

What You’re Longing For

What You’re
Longing For

You know that you want to deepen your relationship with your own Deepest, Wisest Self, that part of you that is connected with the Source of Love and the Spirit of Life. With God/dess. With the Divine. With your own deepest capacity for love.

You’re ready to spend some time working on this relationship, this deep magic that is described in one text as,  letting “thine own innermost, divine Self be enfolded in the embrace of the Infinite”.

I invite you to consider one of the ways toward that deeper relationship with the Divine on this page and then to schedule a free, half-hour consultation call with me to talk about how you might best do this important work.

Individual Spiritual Accompaniment

Individual spiritual accompaniment is a regular (once or twice a month) 1:1 encounter with the Holy in a developing relationship of understanding, insight, query, and silence among you, me, and the Most Sacred Who holds us in our conversation.

In individual spiritual accompaniment, Three-Fold Listening is the model of attention and care. It is my role to listen deeply to what you offer in the silences and in your words and body language. Both of us also attend to the movement of the Spirit of Life and to our own yearnings and understandings and doubt. We listen, watch, attend, and consider the intuitions of our hearts.

If you think individual monthly sessions might be the way forward in your quest for spiritual depth, practice, and relationship, let’s have a conversation about it. Please go ahead and schedule a free call with me.

If you are in a time in your life where you find yourself crying the tears of loneliness and wandering in the wilderness… If you feel as though there is no place for you in conventional spiritual settings, but you yearn for a deep, focused experience of the Holy… If you are in a time when your own practices of communal or solitary spirituality, while deep and consistent, are no longer offering you the solace you desire…

If you need a companion on your spiritual path who can offer you the time, space, and availability to really delve into the work of coming to know yourSelf in relationship with the Divine and with your own heart…

Perhaps you might like to explore the possibility of one-with-one, moving along the path of spirituality together. I am here to hear you, and would love to see how we might be together. “Listen with the ear of your heart,” as Benedict of Nursia said, and incline yourself toward the way Love, the Divine Source of all things, is calling you.

And then give me a call and we’ll talk.

Small Group Spiritual Deepening

One of the ways I also love to work with Seekers is through small group spiritual deepening.

If you’re like me, working with more than just one other person can be a profound, healing, and empowering experience. In a highly structured meeting of 90-120 minutes, once a month, in groups of 4-6, you can be deeply listened to. We arrive in silence, and then move into a sacred time of speaking, listening, contemplation, and reflection.

When you are in the role of the Seeker, you will be deeply, deeply listened to and then have some sacred, sweet conversation as the Listeners (others in the “room”) hear, perceive, and wonder. At other times, you are one of the Listeners, and have the chance to offer similar gifts to other Seekers.

Three-Fold Listening, the central practice of spiritual accompaniment, is attending to what comes up about our own experiences and beliefs (and discerning whether and how those experiences and beliefs may be relevant to the Seeker’s experience(, attending to what comes directly from what the Seeker does and does not say, and finally, Three-Fold Listening involves trying to perceive the movement of the Spirit in the group and following its guidance.

Small Group Spiritual Deepening

Some questions that may come up in this phase of listening are, where are there themes that seem to be particularly helpful to the Seeker or what are you deeply moved to share, even if you don’t know precisely why?

One of the advantages of Small Group Spiritual Deepening is that it allows for different kinds of experiences at different times. The Listeners, not only the Seeker, have their own profound encounters with themselves, with one another, and with the Divine. Not only that, but each session is very different because the Seeker and their concerns are different.

One of the groups I offer is specifically geared toward the needs of queer, neurodivergent people who want to experience a tender, small-group experience. While there are other queer and/or neurodivergent people in my practice, if you are a queer and neurodivergent person, please let me know, and if there is currently room in that group, we can discuss it in particular.
